How to Find Your Honda Radio Serial

Method 1 — Radio chassis sticker

Remove the radio from the dashboard. On the side of the unit you will find a sticker with the serial in the format HO680AX8047257. Enter the full serial including the leading HO.

Method 2 — Honda's own tool

Honda provides an official radio code lookup at owners.honda.com using your VIN and the radio serial. You can also call Honda customer support with your VIN and proof of ownership.

Method 3 — Dealer

Any Honda dealership can retrieve the code from their system using your VIN. This is free of charge if you are the registered owner.

Honda Civic (2001–2005) and CR-V (2002–2006) are the most common models requiring codes. The radio serial always starts with HO on genuine Honda units.

FAQ

Why does my Honda radio show CODE E?

CODE E means the radio has been locked due to too many incorrect attempts. Leave the ignition on ACC for 1 hour to reset the counter, then try entering the correct code again.

How do I enter the code on a Honda Civic?

With the radio showing CODE, use the numbered station preset buttons (1–6) to enter each digit. Press and hold button 6 (or the tuning arrow) to confirm. The radio will activate immediately.

My Honda Accord radio serial doesn't start with HO — what do I do?

Some Honda models came with non-Honda branded radios (Blaupunkt, Alpine). If your serial doesn't start with HO, try our main calculator and select the correct brand from the full brand list.
