Remove the radio from the dashboard. On the side or top of the unit you will find a sticker with the serial beginning PH followed by a model number and sequence (e.g. PH777SL0004117). Enter the full serial as printed.
Some Philips-built units display a service code when specific button combinations are held during startup. Consult your radio's service manual for the correct key sequence for your model number.
Since Philips supplied OEM units to multiple car brands, your vehicle's dealership may be able to retrieve the code using your VIN and proof of ownership.
Philips-built OEM units were fitted across a wide range of manufacturers. The PH serial prefix covers all of them:
| Manufacturer | Notes | Years |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-brand OEM | Philips-built units sold under various car brands | 1990–2008 |
| Clarion | Philips-specification Clarion OEM units | 1992–2007 |
| JVC | JVC units conforming to Philips PH serial standard | 1994–2008 |
If your serial starts with PH regardless of what brand name is on the faceplate, it is in this database.
Yes. All Philips-built car radios with anti-theft protection lock automatically when power is interrupted. Enter your 4-digit code using the preset buttons to unlock it.
Most Philips radios allow 3 incorrect attempts before requiring a 1-hour wait with the ignition on. After the wait you get another set of attempts. The radio does not lock permanently under normal circumstances.
Ensure you are entering the serial exactly as printed on the sticker, including all characters. Some serials include a letter suffix after the number that must be included. If still not found, the unit may be from a batch not yet in our database — try your vehicle dealer.
