Remove the radio from the dashboard using flat release tools or DIN keys. On the side or top of the unit you will find a white sticker with the serial in the format FA0925S1000012 or FB0925S1000012. Enter the full serial including the leading FA or FB.
When the radio was new, a small security card was included in the vehicle documents with the radio code pre-printed. Check your glovebox, service book pocket, or vehicle handover paperwork.
For Ford vehicles, Ford customer support can look up the code using your VIN. For Renault and Peugeot, dealerships have access to the same database.

The database covers FA and FB prefix serials. FC and FD units are less common Grundig variants; try entering them — if the serial exists it will return a code, otherwise the lookup will report not found.
SAFE means the radio has had too many wrong code entries and has locked itself. Leave the ignition on ACC for one hour to reset the attempt counter. The radio will then show CODE and you can enter the correct PIN.
On the Ford Focus Mk1 (1998–2004) with a Grundig radio, the serial sticker is on the top surface of the radio chassis. Use two DIN radio removal tools inserted into the four holes on the face plate to release the unit.
Yes — Siemens VDO supplied identical Grundig-branded units to Renault and Peugeot. The FA/FB serial format is universal across all manufacturers.
