Remove the radio from the dashboard. Alfa Romeo and Lancia use DIN-sized slots — use flat release tools (not DIN keys) on most models. The serial sticker on the chassis begins with AR followed by a 3-digit model code and alphanumeric serial.
The original radio code card was included in the vehicle handover documents. Check the service book, glovebox compartment, or the folder with the vehicle documents supplied when the car was new.
Alfa Romeo and Lancia dealerships can retrieve the radio code using your VIN from the manufacturer's database, usually at no charge for the registered owner.

"dEFEnd" is an older Blaupunkt display indicating the radio is locked. It is equivalent to CODE mode. Enter the 4-digit code using the preset buttons to unlock.
Yes. Lancia vehicles from the same era used the same Blaupunkt/Becker OEM radios with the AR prefix serial, and they are covered by this database.
Leave the ignition in ACC for exactly one hour. The radio will reset and show the code prompt again. Do not turn the ignition off during this period.
