Ford, VW & Seat premium units — 4-digit serial code lookup
Continental VP1/VP2 serials are 4-digit numbers
Turn the radio on. Press and hold the SOURCE button (or MENU on some models) for 10 seconds. The radio will display a sequence of digits — these are your serial numbers. Write them down and enter the 4-digit code in the calculator above.
Remove the radio from the dashboard. On the chassis you will find a sticker with a part number and a separate 4-digit service code. Use only the 4-digit code — not the full part number — in the calculator.
Continental supplied these units to Ford, VW and Seat. Your vehicle's dealership can retrieve the code via VIN lookup using their factory systems.
| Manufacturer | Models | Years |
|---|---|---|
| Ford | Focus Mk2/Mk3, Mondeo Mk4, Kuga Mk1, S-Max, Galaxy Mk2 | 2005–2015 |
| Volkswagen | Golf VI, Passat B7, Tiguan Mk1, Touran Mk2 | 2007–2015 |
| Seat | Leon Mk2/Mk3, Ibiza Mk4, Altea | 2006–2015 |
With the radio showing ENTER CODE, use the preset station buttons (1–4 or 1–6 depending on model) to enter each digit of the code. Press and hold the SEEK button to confirm. The radio will activate immediately if the code is correct.
Continental (formerly Siemens VDO) built the higher-specification OEM units, typically the "Premium" or "DAB" variants. Visteon built the standard-spec units. Both appear in newer Ford models (2005+). If your radio has a touchscreen or DAB it is likely a Continental unit.
WAIT means the radio is in a lock-out period after too many incorrect attempts. Leave the radio powered (ignition on ACC) for one hour. After the timeout the radio will return to code entry mode.
