Get Your Radio Code

Continental VP1/VP2 serials are 4-digit numbers

Continental VP1 / VP2 radios use a simple 4-digit numeric serial displayed on the radio screen when a button combination is held. The serial can also be found on the chassis sticker — look for a 4-digit number, not the full part number.

How to Find Your Continental Radio Serial

Method 1 — On-screen serial display

Turn the radio on. Press and hold the SOURCE button (or MENU on some models) for 10 seconds. The radio will display a sequence of digits — these are your serial numbers. Write them down and enter the 4-digit code in the calculator above.

Method 2 — Radio chassis sticker

Remove the radio from the dashboard. On the chassis you will find a sticker with a part number and a separate 4-digit service code. Use only the 4-digit code — not the full part number — in the calculator.

Method 3 — Vehicle manufacturer

Continental supplied these units to Ford, VW and Seat. Your vehicle's dealership can retrieve the code via VIN lookup using their factory systems.

Continental AG (formerly Siemens VDO Automotive) supplied premium infotainment units under the Continental brand to Ford, Volkswagen and Seat from 2005 onwards. The VP1 and VP2 are their flagship OEM head unit families.

FAQ

My Ford Focus radio shows "ENTER CODE" — how do I enter it?

With the radio showing ENTER CODE, use the preset station buttons (1–4 or 1–6 depending on model) to enter each digit of the code. Press and hold the SEEK button to confirm. The radio will activate immediately if the code is correct.

How is Continental different from other Ford radio brands like Visteon?

Continental (formerly Siemens VDO) built the higher-specification OEM units, typically the "Premium" or "DAB" variants. Visteon built the standard-spec units. Both appear in newer Ford models (2005+). If your radio has a touchscreen or DAB it is likely a Continental unit.

I tried the wrong code and now the radio says "WAIT" — what do I do?

WAIT means the radio is in a lock-out period after too many incorrect attempts. Leave the radio powered (ignition on ACC) for one hour. After the timeout the radio will return to code entry mode.
